Cottonwool grass or Kunai grass (Imperata cylindrica) A very fast growing, densely spreading rhizomatous grass that is more suited to soil stablization and erosion control in disturbed areas than garden culture... It grows to a mature height of about 2.5 -3 m and is extremely tough, flourishing in even clayish soils. Care should also be taken as to where this grass is planted as it is extremely flammable, even when green and fresh.
